Amy O’Neill Joins Tigers Women NBL1 South

The Melbourne Tigers are thrilled to announce the signing of Amy O’Neill for the remainder of the 2023 NBL1 South season.
Amy joins the Tigers with a wealth of experience. She won a championship with the Southside Flyers in the WNBL, after an outstanding collegiate career at St Francis, Brooklyn.

A 5’8” point guard, known for her elite speed, ability to get on the rim and a great facilitator with the ball, Amy is coming off a great season in 2022 for Sandringham Sabres in NBL1 South, putting up 11.7ppg 5.6apg and 7.5rpg.

Coach Warrick Giddey said, “It’s great to have Amy join us for the rest of the season. She brings some real experience and leadership to our young side in arguably the toughest position on the floor to play. Amy gives us some quickness and speed and her ability to get on the rim and pass will help our shooters get some better looks. I’m looking forward to her being around the group and help us push towards finals.”

Amy said “I am excited to be joining a young competitive group and to play for such a prestigious club as the Melbourne Tigers. I can’t wait to get started”.
Amy will suit up for the first time with the Tigers this weekend when the Tigers take on the Eltham Wildcats, away on Saturday evening.
