RANGERS SECURE FIRST WIN OVER TIGERS

Melbourne Tigers 85 def by Dandenong Rangers 93
The Dandenong Rangers have secured its first win of the NBL1 South season, coming from behind to beat the Melbourne Tigers on the road.
It was a tale of two halves, and two very different offensive gameplans during the contest.
Melbourne leaned on its outside shooting early, opening up an 11-point advantage in the first quarter.
Seven Tigers players connected from downtown in the contest, however Dandenong fought back within striking distance in the second quarter before taking a five-point lead into the main break.
For the Rangers, the focus was clearly to attack Melbourne on the interior, which was exactly what star center Oliver Hayes-Brown did over the four quarters.
Hayes-Brown led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as the Tigers struggled to match his energy.
After taking the lead going into half time, the Rangers held onto its advantage over the remaining two quarters to lift itself off the bottom of the ladder.
Dandenong will look to build on its winning effort next week against the surging Hobart Chargers.
