The Melbourne Tigers have added two important athletes to their 2021 NBL1 South roster.
Anthony Karabatsos returns to the Tigers from a successful four years at Seton Hill College in Pennsylvania. A crafty left-handed guard, he led Seton Hill in assists in his final two years. Anthony was a Tiger junior in the VJBL. He is a natural floor leader and can also score quickly.
The Tigers have also re-signed Van Merbin. The 5-man contested manfully as a back-up to Dane Pineau in 2019, often battling much taller opponents. Merbin shot at 46% from behind the arc and often stretched the defence. Expect to see his minutes increase in 2021.
The Tigers stage their first home game at MSAC on Saturday 17th April.
