Coaching Expression of Interest

2021/22 VJBL Season

The Melbourne Tigers Women’s Basketball Association (MTWBA) is currently calling for expressions of interest for coaches in the Melbourne Tigers Junior Girls Representative Basketball program for the 2021/22 VJBL season.

Applications are called for all age groups Under 12 – Under 20 Girls as either Head Coach or Assistant Coach

All interested applicants should be aware that MTWBA coaches are expected to:

  • Adhere to the MTWBA coach Code of Conduct, Member Protection Statutory declaration and Working with Children check
  • Hold a minimum of Level 1 or Club Coach accreditation or be willing to complete the course within the first 12 months of being appointed
  • Meet the required commitment of mid-week and Sunday morning training sessions and be available for competition games on Friday nights
  • Be available to assist with representative try-outs in October/November (mid-week and Sundays) and work with fellow coaches to select teams
  • Possess a high level of communication, motivation, and organization skills (e.g. plan practice sessions) be willing to work as a team and show a good work ethic
  • Contribute to the coaching ethos and club culture of the Melbourne Tigers

(NOTE:  MTWBA will not consider an applicant who wishes to actively participate in another association representative program, in addition to the Melbourne Tigers)

The MTWBA will nominate teams in the following age groups:

All nominations for coaching positions will be considered on merit. Please note that applications from parents applying for assistant coaching positions in the age group their child is trialling, will be confirmed team selections are finalised.
