Year of induction

After participating in the NSW State School Boys Team Paul spent 5 years with the Sydney City Comets in the CBA. In between he had two stints in the NBL, one with Sydney Supersonics and then the Kings. Upon his return from a scholarship in the US he played one season at Dandenong in the CBA.

In 1996 Paul joined the Tigers as the Director of Coaching which also involved coaching Junior Girls teams which was done with some success at the Under 14

Nationals with Gold in 2001 & 2010 and Bronze in 2003. In addition he also joined Ray Tomlinson’s coaching staff as Assistant Coach for the WNBL team for five years.

As Head Coach of the Tigers Big V Championship team from 2002 to 2006 Paul’s teams won the Championship in 2003 and repeated in 2004 after being a semi-finalist in 2002.

With a successful career at Junior and Senior level it was only natural that Paul would be given opportunity at State and National level. In 2001 he was Assistant Coach for the Victorian Under 18 team. His chance at a Head Coach position arrived in 2006 when he was named Head Coach of the Victorian Under 20 team which he held for four years and during this time he was named Basketball Victoria Male Coach of the Year in 2007.

2010 saw Paul take the opportunity at National level when he was Assistant Coach of the Under 17 Australia Gems team at the Oceania Tournament.

Apart from his Junior, State and National duties he was also Head Coach of the Victorian School Girls Team for five years with two Silver and two Bronze finishes.

These achievements saw him named Head Coach of the Australian Schools Girls team in 2003, a position he held until 2005.

A well respected coach and a worthy inaugural inductee of the Melbourne Tigers Hall of Fame.
