The Melbourne Tigers Girls Development Squad has returned for 2021!
Designed to prepare girls to commence their Junior Representative playing career in the
VJBL. Development Squad will focus on building the core fundamental skills with an
emphasis on passing, dribbling, ball handling and shooting.
Commences: Sunday 31st January – First week school returns January 2021
Age Group: For girls turning 7, 8, 9 & 10 in 2021
Duration: During School Terms 1, 2 & 3
Location: MSAC: Sundays. 9:30am – 11:30am
Breaks: NO Development Squad during the school holidays and other
Sundays throughout the year: 8th March (Melb F1 GP); 4th April
(Easter Sunday) & 14th June (Queens b’day)
Coaches: Coach Arthur and other Melbourne Tigers experienced coaches

TOURNAMENTS
Development Squad is organised into teams to enter 2 tournaments throughout
the year
- Melbourne Tigers Junior Tournament. Fri 2nd – Sun 4th July (middle
weekend of July school holidays) – Dandenong - Development tournament. End of Term 3 in September – Ringwood
Development Squad will prepare players for the Melbourne Tigers Girls representative try-outs in
October 2021
Development Squad players are expected to be actively playing domestic basketball
