Tylah Hooper re-signs with Melbourne Tigers

The Melbourne Tigers is excited to announce young gun Tylah Hooper is returning for our Women’s NBL1 South roster for season 2024.

Tylah has come through the Tigers junior ranks and has been a part of the NBL1 squad for the last three seasons as a development player where she balanced both NBL1 and YL commitments.

Tylah is a success story for the junior pathway having started as a bottom age U12 and graduated all the way through to U18’s and has now signed on as a full rostered NBL1 player.

Tylah has achieved a lot for her years, she represented Basketball Victoria at the Australian Junior Championships and spent time in the New Zealand NBL playing for the Mainland Pouakai.

Coach Kaleb Sclater said,

“I am excited to elevate Tylah to a main roster player in 2024. I first met Tylah three years ago when I assisted Herbie, and you could see she had a lot of talent. It’s a credit to Tylah and it really highlights our junior pathway. To have her go through the age groups, and  now be a part of the NBL1 roster is a remarkable achievement.  Tylah is able to light it up from beyond the arc and is crafty on off-ball screens which will be a big asset in our style of play in 2024”

Tylah said,

“I’m super excited be back signing with Melbourne Tigers NBL1 for my 4th season! I wouldn’t be where I am without my family and I’m so thankful to have them by my side all these years.

I look forward to playing with a bunch of new girls who I can learn off, and build strong friendships with. Playing under Kaleb has been super beneficial for my basketball journey so far and I can’t wait to keep learning. As a Tiger for almost 11 years now, playing at the highest level for my club has been something I’ve been wanting to do since I was a junior Tiger. Watching players like Monique Conti train and play inspired me.

I can’t wait to see many junior tigers players cheering us on at our games knowing I was once in that exact same spot.”

We’re thrilled to have Tylah on the team and can’t wait to see her on the court again in 2024!
