Jack Purchase returns home in 2023

The Melbourne Tigers are thrilled to welcome back Tigers junior Jack Purchase to their 2023 NBL1 South Men’s roster.

A 2012 Tigers Junior graduate, Jack was a crucial member of the 2012 under 17 Australian Men’s team that won Silver at the World Championships. After a Freshman year at Auburn State University, Jack transferred to Hawaii where he holds the record for most ever three pointers made in the program’s history. Jack returned to Australia where he’s played with Melbourne United, Adelaide 36ers and the Perth Wildcats.

Head Coach Andrew Gaze expressed his delight with having Jack back involved in the Tigers program, stating “Jack’s experience from playing at the University of Hawaii and in the NBL will bring valuable leadership and strength to our 2023 Men’s team.”

On his return to his junior club, Jack is “really excited to be back home with the Tigers and playing for the great club again. Coming back to the Tigers has been something [he] has always wanted to do.” Jack is really looking forward to the season and playing for Andrew, his under 18s junior coach and uncle, again.

The NBL1 teams take the floor on April 1 against the Ballarat Miners in Ballarat. You can catch Jack and the NBL1 teams at home at MSAC for the first time on Thursday 13 April taking on the Waverley Falcons from 6:30pm. All games are livestreamed via the NBL1 website and App.
