Mikayla a 6’1 forward grew up in Melbourne coming through the Basketball Victoria system, representing Victoria at the U18 and U20 Australian Junior Championships. Mikayla brings size and some defensive toughness to the Tigers NBL1 Womens squad for the season.

Coach Warrick Giddey said, “We are really thrilled to have Jade & Mikayla join the Tigers in 2023, both athletes help us a lot and give us some toughness defensively. Jade is a great athlete, will get in passing lanes and run the floor and Mikayla has great size and someone who can defend one through four. I am also keen to give them an opportunity at the NBL1 level and help them develop as players.”

Jade said “I’m stoked to be joining the Tigers this season, the opportunity to play with and against some great talent in the league really excites me. Preseason has been strong and positive, and I’m looking forward to the season we have ahead of us.”

Mikayla said “I am really excited to be playing for Melbourne Tigers this season. They are a great club with a rich history and a family feel. I’m looking forward to learning from Wazza, Kaleb and Grant. I have been welcomed by a great bunch of girls who I am excited to play with.”

Jade and Mikayla will suit up for the Tigers when they play their first NBL1 game against Ballarat (away) on Saturday 1st April.
