KATE OLIVER SIGNS WITH MELBOURNE TIGERS

The Melbourne Tigers are thrilled to announce the signing of Kate Oliver to their NBL1 South roster, for season 2020. The 193cm post player was born in Melbourne but played her junior basketball in Sydney where she represented Australia in under 17 and under 19 age groups. Oliver completed a scholarship at the AIS in Canberra before an impressive US college career at Marist and later the University of Southern California.

Kate returned to Australia in 2014 and joined WNBL team the Sydney Flames, before moving to the Melbourne Boomers the following year.

Kate headed to the UK and has dominated in the British Championship Basketball League, leading the Leicester Riders to consecutive titles.

Tigers’ coach Kristi Harrower commented “It’s great to secure Kate. She has played at the top level and in strong winning programs. She has a strong inside game but can also step out and hit the jump shot”.

Kate will join the Tigers as soon as her European commitments conclude.
